JACK DETROIT
Claire Molla, Erik Thurmond, Melissa Word
w/ special guest: Haute to Death
Temple Bar & El Club – Detroit, Mi
August 19 & 21, 2016
JACK is an experimental dance project that explores party culture, dance floor and audience. JACK in Detroit is the second iteration -- the first took place in Atlanta, March 2016. For JACK in Detroit the artists worked closely with Detroit's infamous house DJs Haute to Death to explore a variety of questions:
What roll does location (city, dancefloor, neighborhood) have on Party? What roll does the audience play in a performance? Can improvised movement create more impactful engagement between audience and performer?
JACK DETROIT took place over two-nights.
