A storefront activation by Elise Williams exploring the ephemeral beauty of cherry blossoms for the 43rd Annual Macon Cherry Blossom Festival.

Featuring two installations, BLOOMING & FLOURISH, at 3rd and Cherry and Loom at Hotel Forty Five, the activation is crafted through organic, floral-inspired shapes made from coffee filters. Each blossom is carefully dyed, with deep pink and maroon tones saturating the centers, evoking the rich hues of cherry blossom trees in full bloom. The outer petals remain a soft blush pink or pure white, creating a dynamic contrast that mirrors the natural variations found in these iconic flowers.

To enhance the composition, the piece incorporates woven and draping fibers in complementary tones—soft pinks and whites blending seamlessly with fresh spring greens. These fiber elements introduce an additional layer of texture and movement, evoking the gentle sway of blossoms in the breeze. Sections of independent green hues are also introduced, emphasizing the renewal and vibrancy of spring.

By transforming everyday materials into an ethereal landscape of blossoms, this installations capture the fleeting yet timeless essence of cherry blossoms, inviting viewers to pause and appreciate the delicate balance between nature, transformation, and artistic interpretation.
