In June 2017, Dash took artist Michael Oliveri's large-scale UFO sculpture on a road-trip across the country from Atlanta, GA to Joshua Tree, CA, to provoke conversation surrounding public hoax, myth-making, and the absurd.
The project took place from June 8-25, 2017. The team departed Atlanta on June 8, making stops in Roswell, NM; Truth or Consequences, NM; and Phoenix, AZ before reaching the final destination, Sunfair Dry Lake Bed in Joshua Tree, CA (in partnership with High Desert Test Sites) on June 16th.
The Roadshow visited several extra-terrestrial locations along the road-trip, such as the International UFO Museum & Research Center in Roswell, NM, the Rocket Inn in Truth or Consequences, NM, and several roadside stops along I-10. At each stop, the Dash team dropped smaller Michael Oliveri UFO sculptures as a token of the UFO Roadshow.
The team and the large-scale UFO arrived in Joshua Tree on June 16. The sculpture was installed in the middle of an expansive desert view at Sunfair Dry Lake Bed, and left on view until June 25th. On opening night, June 17, Dash invited L.A. & Joshua Tree to come party alongside the UFO; music was provided by Def Sound (LA), and good times were had by all.
